WVUA-TV is the hometown station for west Alabama, providing award-winning and top-rated local news, weather and sports to viewers across the state. As part of the University of Alabama, WVUA-TV broadcasts select UA sporting events.  

We have the coaches covered too. WVUA-TV broadcasts The Nick Saban Show, The Anthony Grant Show and The Sarah Patterson Show.  

We are also the home to Tider Insider, Crimson Comments and Crimson Classics.  You can also catch Football Friday, featuring local high school highlights, The Tommy Wilcox Show, Discovering Alabama and Alabama Experience on your hometeam.

WVUA-TV is also the Birmingham affiliate for MGM’s “This TV” Network providing great movies and programming. WVUA-TV, as identified by The Nielsen Company, is a combination of WVUA 7 and WUOA 23.  We serve Central Alabama and more.  Our primary studios are located on the University of Alabama campus.

WVUA-TV reaches the 1.76 million consumers in the Birmingham DMA through broadcast, cable, U-Verse, DirecTV and Dish Network. WVUA reaches a total of over 3.1 million viewers with our over-the-air signal, reaching from the Mississippi line to the Georgia line and north to Huntsville and south to Montgomery (Click Map Below).
