Cantaloupe Recall
State and federal health officials are advising consumers to discard all cantaloupes from southwestern Indiana.
A new recall is affecting millions across the country including residents of Alabama.
Tests have found evidence of the same strain of salmonella bacteria associated with a multi-state outbreak that health officials say is still ongoing.
The outbreak began in July.
All of these states are included in the recall: Arkansas, California, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin.
According to the F-D-A's website, a total of 141 cases have 20 states including Alabama.
